Eco Curve Retrofit Conveyor Belt
A recyclable modular belt retrofit that converts existing curved belt conveyors from unrecyclable PVC and polyester belting to fully recyclable polypropylene — installed in situ, with minimal disruption, across logistics, manufacturing and airport baggage handling environments in the UK.
Eco Curve Retrofit Conveyor Belt
Most curved conveyors run on PVC- or polyester-backed synthetic belts. These traditional belts cannot be recycled and are typically sent to landfill at the end of their life. The Eco Curve replaces that running surface with a fully recyclable polypropylene modular belt, fitted to the conveyor you already own.
Because curves are usually part of a live, operational system, full replacement is often impractical and disruptive. The Eco Curve is supplied as an internally suspended kit of parts that mounts inside the existing chassis, converting a synthetic belt curve to a modular belt configuration in situ. In many cases the conveyor returns to service the same day.
The Eco Curve was developed in partnership with Ammeraal Beltech, a global leader in conveyor and process belting, combining M2i’s modular curve engineering with proven recyclable modular belt technology.
The Retro Kit System is a mechanically suspended retrofit solution designed to replace the existing running surface, belt support, and bearing positions typically required by synthetic belts. It introduces a structurally robust wear strip running deck, complete with integrated belt support and guide bearings, optimized for use with modular belts along the inner edge.
Rapid Installation due to the modular design and built-in adjustability, the Retrofit Kit can be installed with minimal disruption. In many cases, the conversion is completed quickly enough to allow the conveyor to return to service the same day

Eco Curve Recyclable Belt Retrofit
The Eco Curve replaces the synthetic running surface of an existing curve with a recyclable modular belt, supported on a laser-cut steel inner ring.
Serpentine wear strip holders, offset from the turning centre to reduce belt wear, mount to adjustable cross members for precise belt support through the arc.
This kit-based approach lets curves already in service be upgraded in place, extending equipment life while removing unrecyclable belting from the waste stream.
Where a synthetic belt would be scrapped to landfill, the modular polypropylene belt can be sectionally repaired, then reground and recycled — supporting recyclable-material and energy-efficiency goals across large conveyor networks.
The laser-cut inner ring fixes back to the original chassis and adjusts vertically, so the belt running surface can be set accurately while clearing existing fixtures — giving a reliable, long-life upgrade with minimal installation disruption.
The Inner Ring Plate is a pivotal part of the design: it lets the cross-members be positioned independently of the existing chassis, giving the adaptability needed to retrofit a wide range of curves.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Eco Curve is a kit of parts that upgrades an existing curved belt conveyor, replacing its unrecyclable PVC or polyester synthetic belt with a fully recyclable polypropylene modular belt — without replacing the whole unit.
It suits 1550 mm centreline / 1000 mm inside-radius curves at 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees, carrying up to 60 kg/m on a V0 fire-retardant rated belt.
The kit is designed to adapt to existing synthetic belt curve conveyors that suit a modular belt application. M2i surveys the unit first to confirm fit and configure the retrofit.
Suitable for 1550 mm centreline / 1000 mm inside-radius belt curves at 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees.
Yes — the modular polypropylene belt can be sectionally repaired, reground and recycled, unlike synthetic PVC belts that are typically sent to landfill. Patented, WO2023284927.
Yes — it’s a kit of parts installed in situ, in many cases returning the conveyor to service the same day.
Yes. For new installations or layout changes, M2i manufactures complete modular curved belt conveyors in 30, 45, 60 and 90 degree angles.
The Eco Curve is the right choice when you want to keep an existing curve in service and upgrade its belt.
